PSD has partnered with Sangath to support the review and revision of their sport-based curriculum for the MeWeSports program, an initiative that uses sport to address substance abuse and promote mental well-being among young people. In addition to the curriculum development, PSD is also conducting capacity-building workshops focused on sport-based facilitation for Sangath’s program teams in Rajasthan and Goa.

PSD partnered with Gramin Shiksha Kendra (GSK) as part of a co-learning program that is supported by the Global Fund For Children (GFC). As partners in GFC’s global initiative Partnership to Educate All Kids (PEAK), PSD and GSK will undertake a co-learning exercise as part of which facilitators from PSD will visit GSK to understand various aspects of GSK’s programming and the methodologies leveraged. During this visit, PSD’s facilitators will conduct a 2-day capacity building workshop for GSK’s staff on leveraging sport-based approaches for the holistic development of young people.

PSD partnered with Gram Vikas to conduct a series of capacity-building workshops and monitoring sessions aimed at empowering youth leaders of Gram Vikas to effectively deliver sport-based sessions in their local communities in Mohuda, Odisha.

For Sahbhagi Shikshan Kendra (SSK), PSD implemented a series of workshops to build the leadership capacities of the youth part of SSK’s project in Japla, Jharkhand. PSD partnered with PRIA and the Martha Farrell Foundation for this engagement.

PSD partnered with Azad Foundation to train youth leaders and team members associated with their Men for Gender Justice and Azad Kishori programs on sports facilitation and leadership skills. The first training took place in Jaipur, Rajasthan in February 2023, while the refresher training was conducted in New Delhi in July 2023. As part of this partnership, PSD also created a curriculum for Azad Foundation.

PSD partnered with the Social Action for Knowledge Building & Awareness Raising (SAKAR) to train female youth leaders on sport facilitation and leadership skills. The training took place in January 2023 in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh.

In February 2023, PSD led the Fit for Life Funshop, organized by UNESCO New Delhi, in partnership with Manav Rachna Educational Institutions, and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), in Faridabad, Haryana. The Funshop built the capacities of 34 sports leaders from across India on how to use sport for social good.

PSD created a training program for the member organizations of Girls Not Brides (GNB), to train youth workers from organizations on using sport-based initiatives to tackle gender stereotypes. Workshops were held in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand for GNB’s member organizations from these states.

PSD has been implementing a series of training workshops for female youth leaders part of Mahila Jan Adhikar Samiti’s (MJAS) football program in Ajmer district, to build their capacity as coaches in order to reach a greater number of female participants within their communities for future programs.

PSD partnered with the Milaan Foundation, a human rights-based organization, for their project on changing narratives that perpetuate violence against young women and girls in public spaces in rural India, to design a sport-based curriculum to combat gender-based violence, champion human rights and develop soft skills.

PSD partnered with FARE Network to conduct a hybrid workshop on building awareness and sensitivity on queer issues in football and sport for Participatory Research In Asia (PRIA), Martha Farrell Foundation (MFF), and Anantapur Sports Academy (ASA). Along with the workshop, PSD developed a resource - Tackling Homophobia in Sports, highlighting terminologies, facts and issues relating to queer rights. The resource also shed light on the prevalence of homophobia and the need to tackle it in football and other sports.

PSD, in collaboration with Harsha Trust and the CSR arm of Paradeep Phosphates Limited, organized a 3-day training workshop for their youth facilitators in Paradip, Odisha. The workshop focused on building the capacity of the facilitators to effectively deliver PSD’s physical activity and multi-sport curriculum to school children from class 1-3.

Between 2016 and 2018, PSD conducted various training workshops with coaches, PE teachers and community trainers associated with Anantapur Sports Academy across the district of Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh. These workshops built the capacities of facilitators to help them deliver more effective sports programs to children and youth. The workshops focused on aspects such as effective communication, leadership, gender, first aid as well as nutrition and well-being.

PSD provided curriculum development, training and monitoring and evaluation support to Monkey Sports, a sport for development organization based in Patna, in order to initiate and implement a physical literacy program for young children in schools across Bihar and Jharkhand.

Through a series of workshops, PSD supported the training and development of CYSD’s (Centre for Youth & Social Development) rural youth leaders and anganwadi workers across 5 districts in Odisha, to build capacity and empower them to implement a sports-based program with children and youth within their own communities.

PSD delivered high-quality physical education and multi-sport curricula to several educational institutions, as well as successfully trained their teachers and coaches to deliver these programs effectively and efficiently. Partner schools included Sherwood Public School, Heritage Valley School, and Sri Aurobindo International School in Hyderabad.
