Community Cricket Program

Aim

To use cricket as a tool to equip young people with essential soft skills and sporting values, build their leadership potential, and increase their awareness of gender equality and child rights.

Duration: September 2022 – Ongoing

About the program

Since its inception in October 2022, the Community Cricket Program (CCP) has been engaging young people aged 12-16 years from Bhubaneswar’s slum communities, empowering them as gender-sensitive, socially-aware leaders and agents of change within their schools and communities, through their participation in cricket. The CCP is a structured, mixed-gender intervention that uses cricket to develop life skills, enhance leadership abilities, and raise awareness on issues of gender and child rights.
