Urvita Bhatia is a Research Fellow at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She has trained in clinical psychology and global mental health, and has been working at Sangath, a mental health research NGO in India since the past 13 years.
She completed her PhD at Oxford Brookes University, which focused on the development of a sports-mediated adolescent substance use prevention intervention. Her research and clinical interests span community-based prevention and treatment approaches for substance use-related problems, for both individuals and families.
She is also interested in designing culturally appropriate treatments to address mental health and gender-based violence.
Shreyas Rao spent over a decade in diverse roles within the sports sector in India before relocating to Philadelphia in 2024, where he is currently a doctoral student at the Fox School of Business, Temple University.
He has served in both managerial and consultative roles involving collaborations with government bodies, sport-for-development initiatives, and sports academies on aspects such as child safeguarding, curriculum design, policy research, and organizational development.
Previously, Shreyas worked as a Senior Research Officer at the Sports Authority of India, where he monitored national sport schemes and moderated a sensitization program for the Indian contingent to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
He also led international projects, such as the ISSF Athlete’s Handbook aimed at providing critical information to international shooting sport athletes on a range of topics.
