Kadam Badhate Chalo is a youth-led initiative to end Violence Against Women and Girls.
Kadam Badhate Chalo (KBC) is a youth-led program implemented by Pro Sport Development, in partnership with Martha Farrell Foundation (MFF) and the Society for Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA). It is designed with the assumption that the root of ending violence against women and girls (VAW/G) lies in changing gender relations between men and women, boys and girls, and this cannot be done without the active and equal participation of youth. KBC empowers and educates youth to assist them in taking leadership within their own communities to address VAW/G.
PSD uses sports-based interventions within the KBC framework to facilitate interaction between girls and boys, subtly question gender stereotypes, build leadership capability, challenge perceptions of violence against girls and women, as well as equip youth with sporting values such as equality, teamwork and respect, to help them become leaders within their communities.
