To aid in the holistic development of children from underprivileged and marginalized backgrounds through a specially-designed sporting curriculum aimed at teaching soft skills, increasing the children's self-esteem and confidence and boosting their academic learning.

Duration: September 2015 – Ongoing

Pro Sport Development (PSD) has been running a community-based sports program in Bhubaneshwar since September 2015 with children from slum settlements, with a focus on aiding their holistic development.

The Community Sports Program is designed to:

  • Aid in the social, cognitive and emotional development of the children.
  • Boost their physical health and well-being.
  • Teach the children to communicate effectively, build leadership capacity, work well within a team and mutually respect their teammates, opponents and members of the opposite gender.
  • Enhance the children's self-esteem and self-confidence as well as focus, memory and concentration.

From April 2017 onwards, Tata Trusts, a 125-year old philanthropic Indian organization, partnered with Pro Sport Development to support the implementation of the Community Sports Program for children living and studying in various slums of Bhubaneswar, via seven centers. The program was awarded a grant to expand to further centers in Bhubaneswar by the International Olympic Committee's Sport and Active Society Commission.

In May 2018, FARE Network partnered with Pro Sport Development to support the implementation of a football camp and tournament in the summer of 2018 as part of the Community Sports Program, allowing children greater opportunities for learning and exposure through football.
